JMI has a long history of involvement in Western NY and Northwestern PA. In 1960 Roger Olson, Gail Gustafson and Durand Peterson founded Asphalt Services, Inc. – an asphalt sealing company, to maintain the roads of Chautauqua County, NY. As the company evolved, Roger found that there were additional opportunities to sell asphalt to construction companies in the process of building roads.

Jamestown Macadam, Inc.’s first asphalt plant was purchased in 1973 to process mined aggregate into asphalt suitable for building roads, parking lots and driveways.

Corbett Hill, a mining company that specialized in aggregate for asphalt production was established in 1973.

The principles of JMI acquired LER Concrete, Inc. in October 2003, which included a ready-mix facility in Falconer, NY, and a ready-mix and precast facility in Kane, PA.

In April of 2016, JMI opened a ready-mix plant in Dunkirk, NY.

In July of 2016, JMI opened a ready-mix plant in Warren, PA.

In 2011 the Kane ready-mix plant was sold and the precast operations were moved to the Falconer, NY.

In May of 2017, JMI purchased the mineral rights of Frew Run Gravel in Frewsburg, NY.
