The 36th Annual Battle of Businesses, hosted by the Jamestown Area YMCA, took place from September 7-14, 2024. The week-long event offered a fun mix of activities designed to promote team building while providing opportunities for local businesses to network and connect with one another.
This year, 70 employees from all JMI locations participated, finishing 2nd overall in the Small Business Division. Team JMI claimed 1st place in the Hotshot Basketball Contest and took 2nd place in both the Scavenger Hunt and BBQ Cookoff. In other events, JMI earned 3rd place finishes in bowling, volleyball, pickleball, and the 2-mile run/walk. Additional events included a softball tournament, disc golf, curling, cornhole, a 9-hole golf scramble, steel tip darts, a Scrabble tournament, and a mystery event.
Event venues for this week long community event included: Bergman Park, Jones and Gifford Park, Maplehurst Country Club, Jamestown Bowling Company, Northwest Arena, Lakewood Golf Center, Haggy’s Hatchet House and the Richard O. Hartley Park as well as the Jamestown and Lakewood YMCAs.
