Mixer Driver
Safe and timely delivery of ready-mixed concrete to residential / commercial construction projects and road construction sites. This position will work with direct and indirect supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete Driver Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections as well as ensure preventative measures are completed on truck (fuel, oil levels, wear and tear) and write up accordingly.
- Ensure delivery is being completed safely and timely in a professional and courteous manner.
- Adhere to company safety and employment policies.
- Maintain communication with dispatch, field representatives and other company employees to ensure concrete is being delivered safely and timely.
- Safely maintain work area and vehicle in a clean and orderly fashion.
- All drivers are expected to operate their vehicle in a safe and professional manner, both on road and off.
- Communicates with Dispatcher to receive instructions.
- Fills truck’s water tank and verifies accurate slump of load, makes adjustments as necessary.
- Works with customers to obtain adequate vehicle access and unloads material.
- Frequently lifts, carries, and attaches flop extension chutes weighing in excess of 40 pounds, re-hangs chutes as necessary.
- Rinses chutes and rear of truck to ensure absence of excess concrete.
- Returns to company site as instructed by Dispatcher and receives new instructions.
- Safely maneuver truck on job site.
- Complete all forms, tickets and required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Performs other job related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Concrete mixer operating experience preferred
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE
- One year experience with a CDL Class B License or better
- Maintain a safe driving record
- Must be able to maintain corporate insurability standards
- Retain a DOT physical card and Pass a DOT drug screen
- Concrete mixer operating experience not required, but is a plus; will train
REQUIRED TRAINING PROVIDED BY JMI
- MSHA ART/OSHA (if applicable)
- CPR/First Aid (if applicable)
ABILITY TO
- Learn and follow JMI company and safety policies and procedures.
- Punctual and consistently arrives at work on time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
- Ability to physically climb in and out of equipment safely and operate levers or pedals to make fine, highly controlled muscular movements to adjust the position of control mechanisms.
- Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to dust, fumes, noise, extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to shovel.
- Ability to bend, sit, stoop, and stand for long periods of time in the outdoor weather.
- Ability to physically climb to top of plant locations and perform work.
- Ability to enter and exit equipment safely.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time (equipment operation).
- Ability to walk and work on uneven terrain.
LOCATION: Falconer, NY; Dunkirk, NY; Warren, PA;
PAY: $16.00-$35.00/hour plus excellent benefits package
